Theres a kind of quiet rebellion in your work – how much do you have to reign yourself in?
Cheers! Erm. Not too much. I go through phases of really wanting to draw naughty stuff and then at other times I am a bit bored of it, particularly the rude/sexy stuff. It kind of makes me sad and feels a bit cheap. So within my own work there is a self-checking mechanism at work there. With client work, sometimes I get asked to tone it down but sometimes I actually get asked to include/ that side of my work.

Being a poor reader i told my girlfriend youre in a band called Santas Cock. What other names were suggested?
None really. The band existed as a daydream between three friends, a pub conversation, for a few years before we ever played a note and it was always called Satans Cock right from the start. Having said that we do have a code-name which is used by friends and family when in the presence of certain religious or straight-laced people. This is ‘The Swallows’. My brother-in-law came up with it just as we we were pulling into the drive of another, quite religious relative. Being called Satans Cock is both a curse and a blessing. It means that people tend to not take us seriously, which I like, although we are a serious band though. Come and see us! Hope and anchor, Upper Street, on Friday night.

Favourite Lemon Jelly tune?
I am forever linked with the Shouty Track because of the video that I made for it but I think my favourite is the one on the Rolled Gold bootleg 7inch with the Wham sample on it.

Which political party is most in need of a rebrand?
They all need a de-brand! Political parties are not brands. I think the use of branding and ‘marketing’ strategies within the world of politics is to the detriment of everyone concerned.

Hows Boris Johnston doing as Major of London?
I have no idea. He seems to be general doing less. Both less good things and less stupid things than his predecessor. You could argue that that is a good thing but then you would be a conservative, which I am not.

What big things in life underwhelm you?
Newspapers.
Environmental issues. (or at least people behaviour in relation to them)
Celebrities.
Christmas.
Premiership Football.

The usual things.
